Smiling Coast Party
The Gambia is the smallest country on mainland Africa, but is recognised as one of the most vibrant places of the continent. Its peculiar shape, resembling a smiling face, gave it the colloquial name of Smiling Coast, which well represents The Gambia’s welcoming and culturally rich history and present. The Smiling Coast Party series aims to bring Gambian music from the past and from today, with its various languages, different genres and interesting messages, to the attention of broader audiences.
1Foundation
In his song titled ‘One Foundation’, Bob Marley sang: “We got to realize we are one people, Or there will never be no love at all”. 1Foundation parties spread love through uniting djs and artists from the African continent and the African diaspora around the celebration of their common root and musical inspiration: mama Africa.
